Have you wanted to get your hands on a modern Toyota Hilux, but annoyed that Toyota won't sell you one, unlike the lucky folks down south in !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ?
Well, this could* be your chance!
(*Depending on if your local government will let you register such a vehicle)
Someone in Virginia is selling a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that Oppos would surely love.

5-speed manual transmission, 4 door cab, Part time 4WD, 2.5l Turbodiesel engine, steel wheels, tough aftermarket bumper with winch, CD player.
The truck was shipped to the US on a waiver and used for the filming of National Guard training films.
The truck is practically brand new, with very low mileage, and still has the plastic cover on the driver's seat.
So, why am I saying all this and only directing it to Canadian Oppos? Because the vehicle MUST be exported, due to legal circumstances, the truck can't stay in the US, even as an offroad only vehicle.
The seller says that from their end, they can ship it to Canada, but I wouldn't even consider making a bid without consulting your local Department of Motor Vehicles, or whatever it's called up in Canada.
I've heard of cases of relatively new vehicles getting exceptions to be imported to Canada, but they seem to be really rare, but this truck's short time with US military might be enough to get them to allow it.
Still, check first before even making a bid, if you want this truck.

Now that would be a pretty sweet road trip home to Ontario. The fact that this is a vehicle, on sale in most of the rest of the world, has to be exported because it doesn't fit with the rest of America's vehicles shows how nutty North America's import laws have become. Even if it is marginally less safe than over vehicles on sale here, surely you accept that fact by purchasing it (just sign a few waivers or something).

So, deal with all the hassle of importation, NA regs, the VIN hold and pay for shipping, or just buy a Tacoma, which is a better truck to begin with.
I don't get it.

It's imported on a waiver as it doesn't meet crash, emissions or taxation regs. The waiver specifies you have to get it out of the country by

Good luck to whoever attempts getting this registered in Canada, but I doubt it's possible.
Even though it has a clear title from Virginia DMV, it is not a vehicle that was manufactured for sale in the U.S. As such, it doesn't fall under the Registrar of Imported Vehicles ' purview. Non-U.S. vehicles can be imported, but it doesn't seem to meet any of Transport Canada's requirements for such vehicles:

the vehicle meets all United States requirements and acquired NEW abroad via a manufacturer's foreign buyer program for North-American buyers abroad (additional restrictions apply).
the vehicle is a returning Canadian compliant vehicle originally owned in Canada (proof of compliance is required).
the vehicle is a returning United States compliant vehicle originally owned in the U.S. (additional restrictions apply).
